On 23 October 2026, Professor Elisa Di Giuseppe presented the paper “Methodological Framework for the Environmental Assessment of an Innovative Terracotta-based Modular System for Green Roofs and Walls Applications” at the international conference “ReShaping the Built Environment through Sustainability and Circularity”, held in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The paper, developed by researchers from the Department of Civil, Building and Architecture Engineering of Università Politecnica delle Marche (DICEA) and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), introduces a methodological framework for assessing the environmental performance of CAPT-TILE throughout its life cycle.
The proposed approach addresses the specific challenges associated with evaluating innovative nature-based construction solutions, considering both the terracotta modular system and its integration with vegetation. Particular attention is given to defining the regulatory and functional boundaries between construction products and living components within green roofs and green wall applications.
The research contributes to advancing environmental assessment methodologies for sustainable building technologies, supporting the transition towards more circular and environmentally responsible solutions in the built environment.
The presentation provided an important opportunity to share CAPT-TILE project results with the international scientific community and engage in discussions on sustainability and circularity in the construction sector.
