On 16–17 September 2026, BGTeC participated in Smart City Expo Poland, held at EXPO XXI Warsaw, where it presented its innovative solutions for green façades and green roofs.
At Stand A6, BGTeC showcased its innovative terracotta technologies designed to transform the building envelope from a passive barrier into an active system capable of improving energy performance, indoor comfort, climate resilience and construction efficiency.
LIFE CAP-TILE: innovative solutions for greener building envelopes
A key focus of BGTeC’s participation was the LIFE CAP-TILE project and its innovative CAP-TILE system: specially designed terracotta tiles that integrate vegetation into vertical façades and green roofs.
The modular solution combines terracotta elements, vegetation and dry-mounted supporting structures, with the aim of making green building envelopes easier to install, durable, maintainable and suitable for industrial production and wider market application.
The CAP-TILE system was presented as an innovative solution designed to contribute to urban biodiversity, climate adaptation and the environmental performance of buildings and cities.
During the event, BGTeC also highlighted its expertise across the entire innovation process, from engineering and prototyping to manufacturing, testing and the integration of new technologies into real construction systems.
Smart City Expo Poland provided an important opportunity to connect with cities, architects, building owners, construction companies, industrial partners and research organisations interested in smart buildings, green envelopes and potential future pilot projects.
The event represented another valuable opportunity to promote the LIFE CAP-TILE approach and strengthen the dialogue between research, industry and the construction sector towards greener and more resilient cities.
